Feeling so seen by hours needed to complete. I often look at "How Long To Beat" times and just add 10-20 hours to know how long it will likely take me. I will say for me I've accepted this about myself and that it means I will play less games which is ultimately where I want to be as long as I'm enjoying the one I'm taking my time with.

Oh yes absolutely, if you're enjoying the way you are playing, that's all that matters. I'm sure I will go back to "fewer games/more time spent" eventually as well. For right now, it feels right to try more games and, consequently, leave some less finished perhaps.

I never really had the patience for completing things...especially if they require a ton of repeated commitments and mastery. I would much rather spend that time experiencing a different game 😅

But if the game allows you to go for 100% during the normal course of play? I'll definitely go for it. The last one I attempted (and got close to achieving) was Death's Door.

I don't know if I've ever completed a game lol

Totally with you on that! Mastery comes form repetition, and surely there's a pleasure in achieving it... But who's got time for that also??

Not finishing games is also a thing for me. Probably for many of us honestly!

I feel you here. I'm pulling myself away from completionism too, unless I'm super digging the game.

I think the last *eyeroll* moment I had with a game on this was Hogwarts Legacy. You finish the game only to be told: Go collect everything, and then we'll give you the real ending. And I replied: OK, I'm off to YouTube to just watch it then.

But then, some friends and I were talking about Banjo-Kazooie last night. I think that was one of the few games I happily 100%ed, because it wasn't a massive chore to do so!

So I think it comes down to design? Not sure!

You have an excellent point about game design—I agree that it plays a big role, something I haven't considered. I feel like it's just I personally like to 100% things even when not needed. It's true though, forced hunting for collectibles to advance the plot is a huge time suck!
